At Olea Medical, we are aware that everybody is an actor in his or her own life but also of others’ lives. That’s why our engagement for people goes beyond the field of medical Imaging. How? By fostering the information to the population to first-aid.
The endowment fund of Olea Medical: Urgence AVC
Urgence AVC has been created to answer the need of information for the general public (symptoms, safety gestures…) but also in order to improve the patient management and treatments he can receive. In a context of local communication campaigns, « Urgence AVC » has been able to inform the population.
Today this endowment fund plans to launch a new communication campaign again, because for this structure, it is fundamental that the message be received by all social groups, whatever their age.
In 2011, stroke is a major problem of public health. It is the first cause of handicap in adults, the second cause of dementia (after Alzheimer disease) and the third cause of mortality after heart diseases and cancers.
That is why the only endowment fund concerning stroke in Marseille counts on the collaboration of all the public and medical institutions in the region in this fight against Stroke.
Our awareness objectives are the following:
- Inform people on the symptoms of stroke, so that they can be easily identified.
- Trigger a reflex reaction when people identify a stroke sign: call the 911 !
- Prevent risk factors for stroke (Hygiene, food, smoking habits….).
For Urgence AVC, now is the time for action! Do not stay inactive whereas there are existing solutions! The struggle against Stroke has already started, and it is not going to stop any time soon!
